July 1st, 2019 marked Dr. Bell’s forty-ninth year in practice in Sharbot Lake, Ontario.
Dr. Peter Bell is the Lead Physician at the Sharbot Lake Family Health Team.
He grew up in Toronto and attended the University of Western Ontario. (BA 1964, MD 1968, St Joseph’s Hospital Family Medicine Residency CCFP 1971)
Dr. Bell started the Sharbot Lake Family Medical Centre in a house trailer July 1, 1971.
He is a founding and Life Member of Rural Frontenac Community Services in addition to:
*Assistant Professor [adjunct staff], Department of Family Medicine, Queens University
*Department of Family Medicine Community Teacher of the Year award 2009
*Ontario College of Family Physicians ‘Family Physician of the Year’ for Eastern Ontario award 2005
Dr. Bell has a strong commitment to a collaborative team based approach to health care and a strong belief that engaging with community is important to health.
